Jurong Tourism Site Needs To Have Creative Developers

The new Jurong Lake District tourism development project is looking for potential developers. The developers of the project must be able to think creatively so that the new project can withstand its competition.

The competition comes mainly in the form of the $9 billion expansion to the integrated resorts (Its) and the increase in theme parks within the region.

The location of the 7-hectare land is planned to become an integrated tourism site with a hotel, attractions, shops and eateries come 2026.

The project must also deeply integrate with the neighboring Science Centre and Jurong Lake Gardens.

The deferment of the High Speed Rail project weighs in heavy during the discussion of the new tourism development. Questions raised include whether the delay in the HSR will make the new attraction less accessible when compared to Jewel and other first-tier attractions.

However, the Singapore Tourism Board spokesperson feels that the new development is the optimal course of action to take given the delay in the HSR. They concluded that the project is not going to be dependent on the HSR.

The new mega tourism project will become a new amenity for residents of Whistler Grand to enjoy given the close proximity.
